Addictions We Treat
Day and Night Treatment Facility at St. Joseph Recovery Center
Why should I get treatment?
At St. Joseph Recovery Center, many members of our caring staff have struggled in the same ways you have, so we have no shortage of compassionate shoulders to lean on. Our addiction program is based on the COR-12 model for addiction recovery and focuses upon long-term sobriety.
When you come to us, you’ll undergo a complete physical and psychological evaluation to determine the level of dependence your body has upon substances as well as whether or not you are suffering from a co-occurring mental disorder. We’ll work hard to manage your addiction and co-occurring disorders and incorporate these aspects into your plan of care.
At St. Joseph Recovery Center, we believe that everything that matters to you matters to us as well. This includes your family, loved ones, health, happiness, and physical health. We are a holistic treatment center that focuses on treating the whole person – mind, body, and spirit. In our center, you’ll find the compassionate whole-body treatment you need to recover from your substance abuse and mental health disorders and begin to lead the happy, fulfilling life you deserve.
What does treatment look like?
St. Joseph Recovery Center is a substance abuse and mental health treatment center that provides a friendly, warm, and compassionate environment for you. Your individualized plan of recovery will be tailored around your specific needs – your addiction, your health, your well-being, your emotional health, and your co-occurring problems.
When you come to us, you’ll undergo a series of detailed interviews as you work side-by-side with your care team to create a plan of recovery for your stay with us. We’ll work together to set goals, evaluate your progress, and determine the next steps in your care. When you’re at St. Joseph Recovery Center, you’re among family.
Our facilities are located in Parkersburg and Summersville, West Virginia. Our environment has helped many men and women much like you, overcome their addiction. We pride ourselves in providing tailor-made treatment plans that are based solely around your needs. Our programs are based around the COR-12 model of addiction recovery, meaning that we utilize a core program for recovery as well as optional 12- step recovery work. This model for addiction recovery has been the cornerstone of continued sobriety for many individuals.
Types of Therapy
Through empirically validated research, we’ve learned that the very best way to manage opiate addiction is through a combination of detoxification, medication management, and our 12-step therapeutic approach to addiction treatment.
If it is determined that you require detox from opiates based upon your physical exam, you will first undergo detox in our safe, controlled environment. There we will be able to closely evaluate you as you go through the most humane detox available. From this point, medical staff will help you to choose either Medication Assisted Treatment (Suboxone or Vivitrol) or abstinence-based recovery. With either of these choices, we provide around the clock medical and mental health supportive services. When you are stabilized on any medications, you are ready to be discharged into our residential treatment program or outpatient care.
Cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) focuses tightly upon correcting incorrect perceptions of the world around you. By creating more positive means of seeing the world, you learn to change the way you feel and behave.
Rational emotive behavioral therapy (REBT) is an action-driven form of therapy that focuses upon resolving your emotional and behavioral problems, thereby allowing you to live a much happier and more fulfilling life.
Group therapies are small groups of people who are struggling with a particular topic – such as opiate addiction – that get together and discuss the topic openly and honestly. The hope for group therapy is that you will learn from others, and they will learn from you through a mutually beneficial relationship.
To best heal your mind, body, and spirit, we also offer several experiential approaches to healing. These include:
When your time at our center comes to an end, we will work alongside you to create an aftercare plan that best meets your needs. Aftercare services are designed to continue the progress you’ve made during your inpatient stay with us and allow for continued healing.
We’ll help connect you to local providers for continuing care as well as locate available community resources such as A.A. and N.A. for your continued sobriety.
The path to sobriety is never easy but it is always worth it.
