Who is Eligible?

The residential treatment program at St. Joseph Recovery Center is designed for adult men and women, ages 18 and older, who have been struggling with an addiction to alcohol, opiates, amphetamines, or other drugs.

Our residential program also serves adults whose addiction is accompanied by certain co-occurring mental health disorders, including anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder, depression, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). See Veteran residential program.

While we are proud to support individuals who are experiencing co-occurring mental health challenges, please note that you must have a primary diagnosis of a substance use disorder (the clinical term for addiction) in order to be admitted into our residential program.

What are the Next Steps after Residential Treatment?

As with all aspects of your care at St. Joseph Recovery Center, your next steps following residential treatment will be determined by what is best for you. Patients can return home or to an alternative supported living environment following their time in our residential program.

Many patients continue their therapy and medication management through our Outpatient or Mobile Outpatient Programs. Our Mobile Units travel to 19 counties in West Virginia, offering comprehensive outpatient services in rural areas, increasing access to follow up treatment.  Our mobile units also offer telemedicine for many services along with a full-service onsite laboratory.

One of the many benefits of residential care at St. Joseph Recovery Center is that if you need additional support after discharge, our case managers are a phone call away. Case managers can help make the transition to living in recovery smoother by providing referrals for job training, higher education, medical needs, housing, etc. This ensures continuity of care and can protect you from immediate relapse as you gain a stronger foothold in early recovery.

Whenever your time with us comes to a close, you will leave with a detailed discharge plan. This plan will document the progress you made while in our care, note the issues and challenges that may require additional support, and identify the community-based resources that may be of assistance to you as you pursue lifelong recovery. From the moment you first call St. Joseph Recovery Center until the day you complete your time in our care, we will provide you with the personalized experience that best prepares you for long-term success.
